DRDO–Somalia implemented the State-Building and Reconciliation Support Programme (SRSP) in Galkayo North and South, responding to governance, social cohesion, and inclusion challenges affecting local communities in Puntland and Galmudug.

DRDO’s Role and Contribution
DRDO–Somalia has consistently advocated for inclusive, accountable, transparent, and participatory governance, with particular emphasis on ensuring that women, youth, and marginalized groups have meaningful opportunities to participate in governance and peace building processes.
Under SRSP, DRDO supported dialogue, reconciliation, social cohesion, and inclusive participation in Galkayo North and South, creating platforms for communities and local stakeholders to engage constructively in addressing shared challenges. The programme strengthened locally owned approaches to reconciliation and state-building while promoting greater participation of women and youth in peace and governance processes.
