Inclusive Governance & Democratization

State-Building and Reconciliation Support Programme (SRSP) 30 October 2024 – 28 September 2025 DRDO–Somalia implemented the State-Building and Reconciliation Support Programme (SRSP) in Galkayo North and South, responding to governance, social cohesion, and inclusion challenges affecting local communities in Puntland and Galmudug. The programme recognized that Somalia’s governance environment is shaped by rapid urbanization, socioeconomic inequality, climate-related pressures, conflict, and limited opportunities for meaningful participation by marginalized groups. With approximately 75% of Somalia’s population under the age of 30, strengthening the participation of young people and women in governance, peace building, and decision-making is essential for sustainable state-building.
